Nice room great staff

Nice bed. I e pillows. It I don’t like that they cover the doublet it sheets rather than a douvet cover, the sheets slip and I fear that I am touching a dirty douvet I liked the room as it wax a king room with a great view and two toilets. It was a bit tired but location wax excellent and service great

Awash in tulips

We came to Ottawa to see the tulip festival, and could not have had a better time. The accommodations were top notch, meals were delicious, the weather was magnificent, and Raphael (at the Concierge desk) suggested bike rentals (just across the street from the hotel), which absolutely made our weekend, and is the perfect way to see the city - and experience the magnificence that is Ottawa in May.. Looking forward to a repeat visit for the tulip festival next May.

Beautiful historic hotel in the centre of Ottawa. Lovely lobby but underwhelming rooms. Rooms are small which is understandable given the age of the hotel but our air conditioning didn’t work perfectly never getting to the desired temperature and our shower gel container was empty when first using the shower. Shower gel was quickly addressed and AC improved after a service call but never perfect. Oddly a switch in the bathroom which should be for a vent never did anything. When I asked, the front desk said bathrooms don’t have ventilation but there is clearly a vent in the ceiling?? Bed was very comfortable and view of parliament buildings is very nice. Terrace bar is nice for a drink. Overall a good stay just not sure it is worth the price.

Needs some improvements

Some improvements needed. 1. Chair in room needs to be re-upholstered. 2. Housekeeping only starts at 9am. I was going for a shower at 7:30 am when i noticed that conditioner and shower gel was empty. Called front desk and they said if I could wait at 9 am bec there is no housekeeping yet. 3. So, i went to have breakfast. Receptionist said that they have no availability bec most customers made reservations. Earliest they could accommodate us is 10:45 am. We are only a party of 2. Most restaurants would not have a 100% reservation. They have to allow for walk ins. I had to ask for manager. After talking to the manager, there was actually a table for 2 available! I think the receptionist needs some training.

An amazing historic hotel with an amazing location

We have never stayed at a Fairmont Hotel. I actually surprised my husband (he thought I had booked a Days Inn). Our stay was extraordinary! I treated us to the Gold experience not really knowing what it was and I can tell you we were so impressed, we are still talking about our stay! The staff were all so very friendly and helpful. All the staff including the housekeeping staff always greeted us with a big smile and a friendly hello. The lounge…wow! We were truly spoiled! The food was delicious and plentiful! The hospitality and staff amazing! I was in Ottawa for a very special and important appointment. It was nice to know that the location of my appointment was just steps away from the Fairmont Chateau Laurier. What an amazing hotel and amazing location. We are just ordinary people who seldom indulge or treat ourselves but because of being in Ottawa for a once in a lifetime appointment I wanted to make our stay extra special….and that it was. Hats off to all the staff on the fourth floor, the doormen, the lovely receptionist who booked our stay, and all who greeted us with a smile …you were all amazing!
